Health & Safety Coalition Consumer Report |
 |

Explanation
of Survey Results
The number
of bullets each hospital received shows how closely the hospital
follows our recommended guidelines. The coalition guidelines cover
treatment area activities and volume, that is the number of each
procedure the hospital has done compared to the coalition’s recommended
volume.
The survey
results do not indicate a hospital’s overall quality. The results
are one piece of information to help patients make informed decisions
about receiving care.
For each treatment
area, hospitals received the following designations:
 |
Completely
engages in recommended activities |
 |
Good
progress in recommended activities |
 |
Getting
started in recommended activities |
|
Not
yet started in recommended activities |
| N/A |
Not
applicable |
| N/R |
Not
reported |
The green
and black bars compare the hospital's volume (top bar) to the
coalition's recommended threshold (bottom bar). For example, if
the coalition recommended volume is 200 and a hospital scored
308, that would be represented as follows.
For
more detail about scoring methods, weights assigned to different
indicators of quality and definition of acronyms go to the technical
notes page.
